Lewis Gregory

Lewis Gregory is one of Somerset’s most influential modern cricketers and a true all-rounder in every sense. A product of the Somerset pathway after developing his early game in Devon, Lewis made his debut for the club as a teenager and has grown into a central figure across formats — combining tireless seam bowling, powerful lower-order batting, and outstanding athleticism in the field.

Over more than a decade in a Somerset shirt, Lewis has played a pivotal role in some of the club’s most successful periods, particularly in white-ball cricket. As a leader and long-time captain in the Vitality Blast, he has helped drive Somerset’s reputation as one of the strongest and most consistent T20 sides in the country, becoming the club’s leading wicket-taker in the format and a player for the biggest moments. His consistently outstanding performances for Somerset have seen him gain recognition at International level, playing for England on 12 occasions

Respected for his work ethic, resilience, and team-first mentality, Lewis’s impact extends well beyond the boundary. He is a trusted leader in the dressing room, a role model for young players coming through the system, and a proud ambassador for the club and the communities it represents. Lewis currently advises and coaches our younger talent, passing on his wealth of knowledge and experience all whilst looking ahead to the future, where he is hoping to complete his Level 3 qualification, with a view to cementing his position as a professional coach.  

His commitment and dedication to the Club that he has represented on 360 occasions has seen him awarded a testimonial year in 2026, well and truly deserved.
